Sisters of Notre Dame – Covington Region

Two Sisters of Notre Dame arrived in Covington, Kentucky in 1874,
missioned to teach at the Mother of God parish school. From those
beginnings the Sisters of Notre Dame Covington Province has
expanded throughout Northern Kentucky and the greater Tri-State
region, serving in education, health care, child care, young adult
ministry, and social outreach.

ABOUT THEIR ASSOCIATE PROGRAM

The Covington Province has offered formal Association since 2003
and has grown to nearly 90 Associates located across Kentucky,
Ohio, and Tennessee. Associates range in age from 37 to 92 and
include married couples, single men and women, and people from
all walks of life who feel called to share in the Notre Dame
charism.

Associates actively participate in the life of the Sisters of
Notre Dame and share in the unique charism of the congregation
— deepening their spiritual lives and extending the spirit of
Notre Dame within their own communities.

HOW TO BECOME AN ASSOCIATE

Associate candidates enter a year of formation, joining together
with Sisters and Associates to experience a fuller appreciation
of Notre Dame history, charism, and mission. Each candidate is
companioned by an experienced Associate throughout the formation
year. After the formation period a covenant ceremony marks the
formal commitment to the Notre Dame family.
