Wisdom Wednesday

Our next Wisdom Wednesday is a light-hearted look at our American language. The topic grew out of an afternoon retreat reflection that focused on how words hurt. We talked about how the use of words has changed and how our grammar seems to have fallen by the wayside.

Mellen is a former English teacher at Roger Bacon and kept a notebook of the many language pitfalls of her students. Each day class would begin with a fun lesson on language. Her students found this part of class interesting and often took the lesson home to parents.
